Common questions
Should I talk to the other driver’s insurance company?
You can share basic facts, but it is usually wise to speak with an attorney before giving a recorded statement or signing anything.
Is there a deadline to file?
Yes. Injury claims have filing deadlines that vary by situation, which is why it helps to talk to an attorney early.
How are injury cases usually paid for?
Many injury matters are handled on a contingency basis, meaning the fee is a percentage of any recovery. Terms are always explained in writing first.
No cost and no obligation.

Questions
Fees, first meetings and what to bring
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else, just ask.
Free case evaluationHow much does a consultation cost?
Your first consultation is free and comes with no obligation. If we can help, we explain the fee arrangement in writing before any work begins.
How do your fees work?
It depends on the matter. Planning work and contract reviews are often flat-fee. Ongoing matters such as family law may be billed hourly against a retainer. Many personal injury matters are handled on a contingency fee.
What does “contingency fee” mean?
With a contingency fee, the attorney’s fee is a percentage of any money recovered for you, and there is generally no attorney’s fee if there is no recovery. Case costs and the exact percentage are spelled out in a written agreement, so you know the terms up front.
What should I bring to my first meeting?
Bring a photo ID, any papers you have received (letters, court notices, insurance correspondence, contracts), a timeline of key dates, and a list of questions. If you are unsure, bring it. We will sort through it together.
Do you offer evening or virtual appointments?
Yes. We offer phone and video consultations, and evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Is what I share kept confidential?
We treat what you share with care and discretion. Note that contacting us through this website does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.
